| it's been a while. much time spent working, schooling, family-ing. the web site here has been in need of an update, reorganizing things so here it is. some changes here. this is now the home page. on the music front, I've been trying out the soulseek service so you can find m/n/m/l there. Spent a day with my MEME buddies a few weeks ago. Giving synth demonstrations at the university. |
| okay, here it is... I put up eight
tracks for you to download, listen to, pass around. these are two tracks
each from my 4 CD's, some good stuff. It seems to me that with all this
file sharing going on, people know what the good stuff is. There's of course
resistance to this on the artist and seller side but even they covertly
exploit file sharing as a gauge of popularity. let's see what happens. about a year ago I took a job as a physics lab manager since the software development I've been doing as my day-job has been getting smacked and smashed without letup for years. but now that too looks uncertain. don't cry for me Argentina, I'll come up with something. |
| the Red Cross / hurricane relief sale is over... thanks
to all who bought CD's. dropping the Weed files from this site. Never made a dime off 'em despite several hundred downloads. Very Very disappointing. But they will remain on a special Weed Artist site. I imagine I built up a false expectation about them by saying 'free, free' when they were not. The idea is good... let you sample something 3 times then you decide if you want to pay for it. But it's no good if it doesn't work. Live and learn. it's October and still warm here. Cooler some days, and after a dry dry summer, now come a few raindrops. the trees ...just ...barely starting to turn. |

I'm putting up vicissitunes for a limited time on the free weed downloads page. weed has been a big disappointment for downloads, but I'll give it a little while longer. Remember - the first 5 tracks you get are free when you sign up. WHACK! my old domain went away quite suddenly. so I went and got this new one. change is the only constant. Google picked up on the new one suprisingly fast. I don't have the "Weed" files back up yet... not enough room to put everything on, not sure what to do about it. while Weed files have been popular, it makes me no money, which it aughta. YOUR BENEFIT, dear reader: everything should be coming to you faster than before. The past few months were spent hustling for day-job stuff, going to school, taking care of family and home, and no music. Now school is over for the semester so I will squeeze the new CD out in the next couple months. |
| years ago I set my clock back by a half hour. that way it
was always off by a half hour all year and never changed it since. CD cover art for fool is done, working on the rest of the packaging. Want to see it sooner? Buy some CD's.. I need the encouragement. last month saw a record high visits for this site, nearly 900. lots of tracks downloaded too. |
| thanks for coming by. I hope to get the new CD out in the
next couple of months. To that end I've been talking to an artist friend
of mine (yes I have friends) about artwork for the CD cover. For every other
CD I've done I've either done the artwork by myself or had no art at all.
Keeping to a theme of stark minimalism. This is fine but for those remaining
five or six people who've never heard of me, the stark covers tell them
nothing about what the music is. To whomever's been downloading all my stuff, thanks. Downloading has really taken off lately. |
| While people are buying CD's and download tracks, and downloading free tracks, the retail scene has been a snoozer. Why??? Actually, Chicago has a terrific experimental music community. Anyway, have yet to make my mark. |

away iTunes downloads again starting Jan 31. And Apple's giving away
1700 ipod mini's as part of the deal. So if you drink the stuff you can
get lucky with some free music or maybe even a music player. They say a
1-3 chance of winning, which is not bad odds. the "Serge Modular Music - NOW" CD is creating some interest on Apple iTunes... one of the cuts, "Serge Raga", ranks in the top 10 Indian Raga style songs on iTunes. I know, I was shocked too.. |
| The CD "Serge Modular Music - NOW" is now on Apple iTunes. There's some good stuff on it, ten tracks by ten different musicians from three continents (including me), so check it out. quick note to European fans... since the Euro is gaining vs the US dollar, m/n/m/l CD's are a better deal. Just a few handmade copies of "Another Round Thing with Music on It" left. When they're gone, you can still buy downloads off Sony Connect, iTunes, & etc. Xmas is the dark time of year, so don't forget to explore the darkness within. Yes, still working on a new CD. Most of the material - the music - is done. Beer is going to be on it - you can download it now. And I've been staying away from music, pretty much, for a little while... I'll get back if & when I'm ready.... |
